Sage Steele: Host & Keynote Speaker
Television anchor and co-host of SportsCenter on ESPN
Sage Steele is one of ESPN’s most popular and respected commentators, currently serving as the anchor for ESPN’S flagship show, SportsCenter, Tuesday through Friday, at 12pm ET. Steele also serves as the lead host for SportsCenter on the Road, which includes full coverage at the Super Bowl, The Masters, The NBA Finals, the World Series, and other national sporting events.
Sage’s latest project includes the influential interview show Up Close on ESPN+, which showcases the life stories and personalities of the athletes fans want to know more about.
Steele is one of ESPN’s longest-tenured anchors, hosting SportsCenter since starting at ESPN in 2007. In 2013, she accepted the role of host of NBA Countdown on ESPN and ABC and enjoyed four years in that role before returning to her SportsCenter roots in 2017.
Sage has also contributed to a variety of other ESPN programs including First Take and Mike & Mike. She hosted The Scripps National Spelling Bee from 2010-2012, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC and ESPN during the inaugural College Football Playoffs.
Beyond her work for ESPN, Steele has co-hosted ABC’s coverage of The Tournament of Roses Parade since 2018, in addition, the Miss America competition in 2016 and 2017 on ABC, and in March of 2019, co-hosted the ABC special, “Volcano Live with Nik Wallenda”, as the famous daredevil walked a tight rope across a volcano in Nicaragua.
Through the years, Sage been a featured guest host on ABC’s The View, made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and has been profiled by numerous publications, including Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, Vibe and Huffington Post, to name a few.
Prior to her ESPN success, Sage’s journalism career began in 1995 upon graduation from Indiana University. She held producing, reporting and anchoring roles in local markets such as South Bend, IN, Indianapolis, IN and Tampa, FL, before landing similar roles at regional television networks in Tampa and Washington, DC/Baltimore.
Beyond the spotlight, Steele has a philanthropic and charitable heart for many passionate causes. Sage is proud to be the newest member of the BOYS and GIRLS CLUB, along with serving on her third year for The V Foundation for Cancer Research, as well as an Advisory Board member for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). She volunteers with The Alzheimers Association, and now serves on the Board for the USA Basketball Foundation.
Most importantly, Steele is the proud mother of three teenagers and resides with them in Connecticut.
